VOTE!

please go exercise your right to vote today. this is the most important election in years. it may feel like it is pointless to vote, but better to do it than have to look back and think we should have when we did not.

of interest in my area:

Ford vs. Corker
i, obviously, think Corker is one scary dude. but i am not a big fan of Ford, Jr. he votes very republican on some of my deal-breaker issues. but i am having to face the fact that we are in TN, and the only way a Democrat, much less, a black Dem, will be voted into office is by painting himself as conservative as possible. i really like Lugo, but i am waiting until the moment i get to the poll to really decide. i do not want a vote for Lugo to really be a shadow vote for Corker, what a nightmare race. at least Ford finally stated it pretty plainly in his last minute election commercial last night. he said, "i support our troops and i voted for the war in Iraq, but i do not want to stay the course. even the president's own research shows that we are creating more terrorists than we are killing." i suspect he purposely waited until the last moment for that, and that it probably only showed in and around my county, which is blue in a big red state. we will see.

state congress: Cohen, of course.

and then the other biggie: voting NO to No.1. this is a proposed constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. we already have a law that says it is illegal, duh! constitutions are meant to preserve rights, not restrict them. what anyone does in their bedroom or with their personal life is none of my concern from day to day, and certainly not to amend our state constitution. love knows no bounds.

one a side note, i learned that Marsha Blackburn is on the "worst" list for voting for children's rights. that is pretty bad. this was broken down to even include state senators and congresspeople. do not vote for someone who votes against our children!

vote against the war!
vote against hate!
vote against those who restrict our civil liberties!
