there is nothing like good live music
last night i went to the Hi-Tone to hang out with Sean and Amber at the Amy LeVere cd release show. i have heard her play many times around town, and she is just so awesome! a little girl, who plays the upright, and i mean, she plays it! sings, and generally has this great energy - soft spoken yet sassy, and a great voice.
she was backed up by some amazing musicians, one of whom is one of my favorite people in memphis - Paul Taylor, a truly consummate musician. check out Amy's page for tour dates coming up over the next month, all through the south, the mid-altantic, and the northeast.
and of course, hanging with Sean and Amber is always a joy - i am so glad they are back in town fairly regularly since they moved to buffalo.

I wanted to go.. She is my next door neighbor. I did not get done teaching until 10 45.

it was nice to go to an early show that actually fit into my sleeping schedule. i must be getting old or something, hah!
