the two dollar fix

...as opposed to the 500 dollar fix.

my computer is back. they replaced/repaired the heat sink. i figured that is what it was, not the motherboard, because of some things i had read online about people breaking open their machines and adding some thernal paste to the heat sink. it has been on for over three hours with no problems and it is just slightly over room temperature to the touch. now if i can get my radiator fixed on my car, then my two most important machines will be operating properly.

Well, I can't say that I'm not sorry to hear this news. I'm quite sure even the least of our techs at Apple would have been able to charge you more than $2 for something!

But, in the interest of seeing you up and running, you might want to have a poke into the realm of something along these lines, even if it is on a Dell.

I have to go sit prostrate now for several hours. All this talk of Dell leaves me filthy inside.

    Yer Pal,
    Steve

I knew we'd get some of your money sooner or later. Accessories, it's always accessories isn't it?
