refreshing
last night i finally got to meet a friend who i have communicated online with for many many years. she is the sister of a friend from high school, and an all around amazing person. she moved out of memphis a while back and now lives in Orange County. we visited some other local friends and then had mexican. i love being around positive people.
this morning i got up at 5:30 to go help my friend Val with her yard sale. she has the BEST yardsales ever. she travels a lot to large cities and is a total clothes horse and shoe fanatic. i traded her time and organization skills for three very unique dresses and totally funky pair of Dansko clogs. this was perfect, because for some reason i am usually broke on the day of her yardsale, but i am very happy to do some work in trade. i love the barter system. and i love hanging with Val, she is hilarious, and we are both going through some similar stuff right now it turns out, so the whole morning was positive and fun and full of support for both of us.
i did not realize how tired this would make me today, so i was thrilled to get a short nap. the temps here are so amazing, so i made sure jah isaac and i went walking afterwards. he is such a funny, spunky little boy - as tall as most six year olds we meet these days, and very articulate. despite his constant need to test me, i see the kind and compassionate human that he is becoming. that is such a reward.
now, i am craving dark chocolate and i have a killer headache, either from needing a coffee or from allergies - i cannot quite tell yet. i think i shall make myself an espresso and see if that works.
tomorrow night, if i can find the childcare - the drive in! we are blessed with an old-school type drive in, and i love it, with bugspray.
