possiblities

it looks as if there has been a shift in power in both the House and the Senate. how amazing.

i always get so naturally high when i go to vote. it is so exciting to me to go and put in my two cents. most often, here in Tennessee, i end up feeling deflated afterwards because this is such a backwards state to me on so many levels. i am sad that Corker was elected. he really scares me. and he just barely got himself in there. i hope Ford will come back to Memphis and run for mayor. we need Willie out of office. i am deeply disappointed in Tennesseans for legislating hate with proposition no. 1, the constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, but i am not surprised. that amendment will be repealed some day.

otherwise, i feel a part of an entire country today. people said their piece. they said they are not happy with things and they want them to change. if younger voters would have gotten out i feel sure that the statement would have been much more forceful. overwhelmingly the people i saw at the polls were elderly. the people working at the polls were elderly. i would like to say to those of my generation and younger - VOTE! please. go register TODAY so that you will be well in the clear for the presidential election. call and write your elected officials and demand that they pay attention to your issues. become informed on things, and use your voice.

all of our little voices together add up to one big one, and change is possible.

I felt good voting yesterday too, but I was amazed at how few voters there were. (maybe it was the time of day)

I wonder why so many people think that their voice doesnt count, or that their vote doesn't matter.

It does count and it does matter.

The bible belt is an interestiing place to be for sure. Lots of fear, hate and ignorance.

Change is always going to happen, but to make posative changes, people have to come from a place of love and clarity, use their voices, and express them in a way that can be heard.

Voting is a privilege, and we really have no say, or right to complain if we dont take advantage of it.
