on a mission

i am not quite sure if it is the sping weather or what, but i cannot stop working on my house. i have completely cleaned and rearranged my kitchen, studio, living room, and bathroom over the past couple of weeks. working a bunch of organization so that every little thing has its own place.

a lot of this drive comes (i think) from seeing everyone else's houses all week long. most of the people who's houses i clean are completely organized. i long for this, as it is easier to keep things clean. way easier.

i have also rediscovered cooking. i never used to think i could cook, until i managed the Midtown Food Coop. since i was the person who opened at 7am on saturday mornings, the farmers market guy would let me have whatever i wanted off his truck for five bucks.

i would come home with bags and bag of stuff, set it all out on the counters in the kitchen, and just start cooking, no recipes. i realized that cooking is like anything creative, you just have to do it, and look at it as a creative process. very much like mixing records, at least the way i mix - just raw materials and you go live. and hopefully, in the end you have some edible, or audible, whatever the case may be.
