Saturna

friday evening jah isaac and i had dinner with my mom and my unkles kevin and jerry. kevin broke his ankle terribly last weekend and had to have serious surgery on wednesday to repair it. aunt rita, his wife, was set to leave for ecuador to help build a hospital, so my mom and unkle jerry are taking care of kevin. jerry lives in atlanta right now, but is up here looking for a job so that he an his wife stella can move back to memphis.

we grilled out, whole tomatoes, portobellas, onions, them steaks and veggie stuff for the angel and me. it was all wonderful, and good to hang out with some family in a relaxed setting, rather than fifty people running around trying to catch up. my grandmother was a good irish catholic and did her part for the faith by having eight kids, seven of whom are still here on earth, five in memphis, once jerry moves back.

saturday was pretty tame. no yard sales. near 100 degree heat kept us inside, and we had a pretty lazy day until i played dish. it was pretty packed, but it seemed like everyone in there had their watches synchronized, as they all walked out the door at one. i think the broadcast went ok, but with no access to chat i have no way of knowing really. it felt very disconnected and i may try taking my machine up there next week to see how that goes.

shortly we are going to see war of the worlds at the drive in. my father is hanging out with the pooper, so we will see how that goes. i am not particularly bent on seeing wotw, but i had a blast at the drive in last time - felt like i was twelve again. something nice about lounging and catching a look at the stars, which is good back up if the movie sucks.
