my multi-colored goodness!

i am the proud owner of a multi-colored, mostly gold, 1982 Volvo GL Station Wagon. yay! the hood and the left front fender are different than the rest of the car, but the engine and the rest of the car are in awesome condition for a 25 year old vehicle.

apparently the original owner was in the military and brought it over here from the Netherlands, and then it sat for ten years. my mechanic, who is the most super awesome honest and kind mechanic ever, ended up with it and rebuilt it with an 87 engine. he told me it was his favorite of all his cars, and i was not sure until i saw him have a bit of a moment in handing over the title. awhhh.

the car itself has only 76k miles, the newer engine only 104k. so this car has fewer miles on it than any other car i have ever purchased or acquired. the interior is gold leather and crackly but i love it. it feels and drives a lot like my '72 VW Fastback, but more solid. i love the boxy little thing. it has pickup and only a few minor things to have done at my leisure, and a paint job.

first thing tomorrow i get it inspected and tagged. i will also update with some photos then, as i forgot today. (i had to kind of ignore it so i would not be tempted to drive without tags and get arrested or something, heh)

yay!

photos today, folks, so much pollen around here that until i run this beauty through the car wash, you would only see a boxlike item with a yellow powder sheen, hehehe.

Ha!!!!!!! My car is sticky and green, with a tinge of black.

Not gonna wash it though, what is the point.

But when you wash your windows at the gas station, and are pumping gas, make sure you remove the pump before you drive off. ;)
