tonight jah isaac and i went to visit my mom for a little while. she got him a really nice book about the history of motorcycles, just his size dimension-wise, with great pictures on every page and short notes... perfect to read to him right now. thanks weebee!

on the way home, it was raining extremely hard, so i had the windshield wipers on high. he started saying, "mama! stop raining! stop the rain! seeee!"

it was one of those moments where i realized, much to my chagrin, that i simply cannot do everything my child wants. it did lead to a great discussion about how stopping the rain is beyond my power (or i and everyone i know and love would have their own house on the beach!), but that the rain is a wonderful thing. we talked about how trees and grass need the rain to be healthy - that they get thirsty just like he does, and that it would stop in its own time, and that we should be so thankful for it.

he is so smart. it is so fun to talk with him about these things.
