and arline, i had not thought of the bulb tree... i will definitely check into that. the cutting of the tree has always been a big deterrent for me - if i can plant it afterwards, that would solve that issue.

There is something about the smell, and the tree energy. There were a few years when I was growing up that my parents got a live tree with a root ball, and then planted it after x-mass. That was cool. Then there were a few years that we had this ugly ass faker than fake tree. I couldn't stand looking at it. Now they but cut trees. I am not getting a tree this year. Maybe I should, it might put me in the holiday spirit. I don't see the point though, as I live alone. There is something about, sharing the tree experience with those you live with and love, and it is'nt the same. All that was to say, YES to a real tree. I must say, I love a real tree.
