making a promise to myself
.... to save my money and buy a real tree next year. i upgraded the tree this year and i still cannot stand the part where you have to arrange the branches and stuff. it is just so painfully fake - not a pleasant thing for an earth girl like me. a little too late now, but a goal to work towards for next year - one of the smaller ones on a huge list, maude give me strength.

I must say, I love a real tree. There is something about the smell, and the tree energy. There were a few years when I was growing up that my parents got a live tree with a root ball, and then planted it after x-mass. That was cool. Then there were a few years that we had this ugly ass faker than fake tree. I couldn't stand looking at it. Now they but cut trees.
I am not getting a tree this year. Maybe I should, it might put me in the holiday spirit. I don't see the point though, as I live alone. There is something about, sharing the tree experience with those you live with and love, and it is'nt the same.
All that was to say, YES to a real tree.

remember when you were little..5 yrs to whenever. we would go to the market corner and walk the isles looking for the perfect tree. then you and colin and i would put it all together, together. and you guys took turns by the year to put the angel on the top. i love those memories and i pray you remember them too. xoxo mom

i do remember them, mom! in fact, i told jah isaac last night when he and i were doing this that we had wait until we were totally finished and i would get him up there to put the star on top.
and arline, i had not thought of the bulb tree... i will definitely check into that. the cutting of the tree has always been a big deterrent for me - if i can plant it afterwards, that would solve that issue.
