lotsa and a birthday!

wow this was a busy weekend.

i drove to knoxville again yesterday morning to throw our info session there. it turned out wonderfully despite lateness on the parts of almost all functional elements - sound, food, drinks, etc. it was a good group of ten folks who were very excited and inspired, and Rasta Root from Atlanta was a joy to be around. super nice guy and talented individual. conversation ranged from RBMA, to deejaying and production, to elements of handling things from a booking/professional standpoint.

i love, love, love that my job allows me to experience these types of events! i walk away so inspired and i learn something new every time - like the fact that i need a buffer for my bookings. i tend to be too nice sometimes, and more importantly, have a hard time setting a value to what i do.

after the session i climbed into my Hampton Bed and watched HDTV on the big plasma screen for a short while and then read and passed out on those fat down pillows. i have to get me some of those. i made it home today by 12:30 because i left at the crack of dawn and the roads were pretty clear due to Easter.

not much in the world like blazing at 90mph with sick house music the whole way. a meditation, in fact. i came to a few conclusions about my path as a deejay, singer and producer about which i feel very good. more on that as i make it happen.

jah isaac did the travelling show with his nanny, weezer, and mamaw over the past two days. he spent the night with his Weezer for the first time all night and was sweet and mindful and just an awesome little boy for her. this is excellent for her, because she has been talking about him being old enough to do this for, hrm... since he was born.

and speaking of that - today is my son's 4th birthday. four years ago in this moment he had been outside of me for a mere 1.5 hours. i was finally showered, fed an amazing meal cooked by my dear friend Stasa, and i was snuggling up with him for a good night of sleep after 42, count 'em, 42 hours of labor. crazy to think.

he has been running around the house with his four (?!?) easter baskets and his new toy robots and singing very sweetly, "happy birthday to me!" he is a big boy. i love him more than anything on the whole planet and no matter how hard it may get sometimes, he is the most important thing i have ever done in my life, and i am grateful for every moment.
