it is a good day

today is the cooper young festival, one of my favorite days of the year. it is when us midtowners get to strut our stuff, or just have a great time together. if jah isaac wakes up in time we will be going to meet melanie and logan to play in the moonbounces, and then he is off to my dad's for his first sleepover in over a year. dad is excited and has been repairing the treehouse, swings, slide and sandbox in the backyard, though he is a little worried that isaac has a good time. he does not want him to have a rough time and be traumatized about coming back over. i am not worried about jah isaac - he is gregarious and full of spunk, and after this day of playing, he will be out like a light. i am more worried about dad, if isaac decides to pull an all-nighter. let us all put good thoughts towards a decent bedtime and a deep sleep for my little angel.

so, i get to be an adult amongst adults for a while this afternoon - i will not know how to act. then i play dish like normal from 10-2, pack up really fast and go downtown to play the closing set after mark farina. this was a last minute booking, and i am glad to do it. i think my music will be appropriate after him. it is only an hour set, which is now really strange to me, being used to playing 3-4, but since i will have already played for four hours, i think it will be ok.

now it is off to pack up half of the house to take to dad's for the most important little human on the planet.
