i am a music lover. i am also a deejay, a singer, and a novice producer. i am, simply put, an artist and a musician. it has taken a long time for me to feel comfortable owning these descriptions of myself, but they are true, and my album will be out someday, sooner than later.

i drink approximately 6-8 shots of espresso per day, more if i go out at night, but that is rare. i also love to smoke cigarettes. i smoke way to many of them and have been described as "that deejay chick who smokes like a freight train..."

i have three jobs - at home help desk for a local communications company, personal assistant, and Red Bull Ms.X for TN - all of which i love love love. mainly for the immense amounts of freedom they each allow me. i am blessed.

i read, on average, at least one book per week, sometimes more. i alternate between fiction and non-fiction, and i particularly love to read historical fiction, then find non-fiction about the same subject matter.

i love clothes. i have approximately 45 pairs of shoes, but i pretty much wear my beat up old pair of black lace-up vans everyday. they are in terrible shape, but i love them so. i also love designer jeans, sue me. (but i get them at the thrift shop for less than one percent of retail pricing, go me!)

i have been a vegetarian for ten years, a vegan for four of those, but now i love my eggs and eat them nearly everyday. also cannot do without brie, guyere, havarti, and smoked gouda, yum.

my favorite things to cook are big huge pots of soup and huge casseroles, the idea being that it is just simpler to eat your whole meal in one course and out of one dish, which naturally cuts down on the amount of dishes to wash. i prefer a huge spinach salad with all manner of additives to all of the above.

like powpow, i do not like being teased or made fun of, or ever being the butt of a joke. to my perception, the vast majority of jokes hold within them anger that people to not feel comfortable just expressing for what it is - too many write off judgments as jokes. teasing also sometimes implies that a person thinks they have someone else figured out, and that is another thing i cannot stand.

i am a homebirther, a cosleeper, a non-violent disciplinarian, and still a breastfeeding mom, four years later. i have taken a lot of flack for these decisions from both family and acquaintances, and at points some of these things have taken a lot out of me - but i am happy to say that i do not regret one moment of any of it and i am thankful to have been able to design my life to allow me to be the kind of mother i want to be.

i have found, in the last year or so, that i am a free-spirit and a renaissance woman. i have never thought of myself in this way, but these things relate to both my professional and personal lives. i am in a period of tremendous growth and intense moving of energy, lots of big changes and learning about my needs and how to balance them. i feel more alive than ever.
