i have a few, but my camera batteries died and i have not had a moment to replace them and transfer the photos.
]]>i had an ok set with the first hour being a little shaky from all the technical stuff, but then i relaxed and had fun. valencia's voice was very strained and she had to stop singing after about one song.... so i decided to sing at the last minute, on the last track before the countdown. i did not announce it, i wanted it to be under the radar and get over this big huge imaginary hump i have created for myself. it was far more relaxed and enjoyable than i had imagined, and i look so forward to expressing myself in that way. i do not need to have a vocalist to sing over my sets.... i AM a vocalist, hello! i will still be having a series of vocalists, i am just including myself on that list.
brandon played a wonderful set - he is so unique in his selections. brad played an awesome set, too... people were very excited to hear him play after three or more years off the decks. sick, dirty, techfunk house! then dirty played his dirtiness and rocked it out. at the end we did a one on one for a few rounds and brandon ended the party with Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime."
so, it was an amazing night. i felt so loved and honored by everyone coming to share the night. big thanks to everyone involved!
