feeling a little aggravated
i think these speakers are too close to my head. i have not found the right table, but decided not to wait, but as i sit here these speakers feel too close to me. they are literally ON my current 2'x4' table... with my laptop in the middle. so my hands as a type are six inches from the speakers, my ears, one foot from each speaker.
perhaps it is just that i am not used to this config, but there is also not room for my keyboard to sit in front of my laptop, without hanging off the table.
this is bugging me. i know this is all a process, but i would rather be aggravated by not being able to make a certain sound than by the furniture design.
also a little bummed about another plan i had going... to throw a show here every other month with an out of town deejay. at the onset it seems people are hip to it, but then people don't call back or they are not clear, or have even been kind of negative - then things come to light that make all of that make sense. i have decided to take it as a blessing in disguise and consider not spinning that plate right now. perhaps a focus on my own production and deejaying is really what i need, duh.

ok well, i improvised.
milk crates, small rugs, and sheets. voila! speaker stands.
still working out kinks... my speakers have a terrible low end hum and my m-audio control is not showing up - the soundcard volume controls, that is. but progress. all hardware hooked up... going to finish teching it and load software... if the speakers are screwed i will just use my headphones.
