eve of the eve
last night's party was a good time. i was pleasantly surprised at how many folks drove on the sheet of ice which our roads have become.
i tried to set up a broadcast all day. got all the necessary elements set up, and then could not connect due to a port/firewall issue and not having a certain password. of course, someone pointed out much later in the night that i could have just run the cable directly to the one machine, but i was late for my set, there was no heat in the basement, so my brain did not register that idea.
anyhow, i enjoyed playing immensely. there were not many people there for the first hour, so i found my own inspiration and got to jamming. mr. white extended my set so that the folks filtering in could enjoy me for a bit. afterwards, i talked with some friends for a while and then a gracious person drove me home on the ice.
i love being able to hang with my friends, see them enjoying my music, see them light up at seeing my face, which is pretty scarce these days. makes me feel loved.
i expected to find the house dishevelled and jah isaac bouncing off the walls when i got home, but i walked in, found everything straightened up, and my son crashed out on his dad's shoulder. such a nice surprise. jason shuttled back to the party and i got a rare bit of time for me just before some very satisfied sleep.
