documentation imperative

jah isaac just came up to me and said:

"mom - i wish everyone could live life all the time." (meaning, not die.)

and then he said:

"but you know, if we all don't die everyday (and this is true!) - the world will disappear."

wow.

this concept hits on all kinds of things to me. first, his name. "isaac" is a biblical name and there are a few different elements of it that made me pick it. but this touches on the most important one. god told abraham to take his son isaac up and sacrifice him. i suppose it was a test of abraham's faith in god, and he did as god told him to do. and an angel intervened at the last moment, saving isaac.

i love this story, and here is why. to me, sometimes we are asked to sacrifice - most of the time, it is the ego we are asked to release. this comes across as if we are going to just DIE, or as if we are losing, giving up, this HUGE part of us that we cannot do without. but the trick is just to be willing to let go. we never lose anything we really need.

and then isaac's statements tonight - same concept. roots in the tibetan book of the dead, in all kinds of fiction, in many religious texts - the idea of letting go. dying the little death, setting it all free. doing this, in small ways each day, at the end of physical life, whenever and however, requires tremendous faith.

i will say that i feel blessed to see that in many ways i have been willing, and i continue to be, and my life does nothing but blossom.

gratitude.
