i haven't written all week so i am going to give you the run down on all the activity. this week was car week. i got the muffler fixed on jason's car and his dad and grampa finished working on my car, which we will pick up today. the muffler made jason's car feel like a new vehicle. it has really needed one since we bought it from our friends two years ago. it is nice to not be cringing with embarrassment with each acceleration, and the car feels much more solid. having my car back will be a blessing, for since it gave out two months ago, jason's gigs have doubled and are much earlier in the day, leaving jah isaac and i stuck here from 4pm on. not a good idea in the summertime with a two year old.
tuesday and wednesday i actually got to go out, without having gigs. my friend stasa needed some money for her trip home to europe thursday, and since she wouldn't just let me give her some, she babysat tuesday and i went to 80's night at the HiTone. it was fun to see some people, a little novel to hear the music, and enjoyable to be able to observe folks since i am not much in the fracas anymore, but not something i would want to be doing every week. wednesday night i went to sean and amber's wedding reception (congratulations!) and that was fun. i was able to see a lot of people that i never see anymore - it was good to catch up with folks, however briefly.
the rest of the week was supposed to just be work, work, work, but jah isaac started running a fever thursday night, a high one. though it took 4.5 hours, they worked him in at the doctor's office yesterday and he has an ear infection and a sore throat that looks like strep. we decided not to do a culture since he was so wrought out and needed meds for the ear anyway, but what i saw looked like strep, and i am hoping i don't catch it from him. his fever spiked at 104 something last night and i learned that maybe it is best to give ibuprofen every six hours instead of every eight. that kind of freaked me out, even though i know mentally that children can run fevers up to 105 without damage occuring. we promptly hit the cool bathtub, which worked out fine anyway since all he likes to do in there is run the cold water the whole time. i finally got my baby to sleep at eleven or so and just decided to crash myself, the five hour doctor ordeal, unusual amount of social activity this week (not to mention the first of two full moons in my sign) having kicked my little butt.
naked lady party at my house sunday - clothes exchange - if you are interested, let me know!
