our dear friends brett and emily will be here this evening, in from portland for the first time since moving there nearly a year and a half ago. i am so excited to see them!

i have known brett since i was about 12. he is completely certifiable and has a heart of gold. his wife emily is one of the sweetest, most creative people i have had the pleasure of getting to know in the past few years.

they are going to be blown away by this little boy who was three months old when they left. this is because instead of flopping around and sleeping half the day, he will be trying to stay up until 1am and constantly tearing through the house saying "thank you" and "uh-oh" and his hilariously endearing name for his dad, "d-d-d-d-d-d-DAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
