jah isaac and i read every night before bed. depending on how late it is and his mindstate, we read anywhere from two to four or five books. lately he has really gotten into "reading" the whole book back to me after i am done reading it to him.

of course, his part is memorization and visual cues, but it is a very important step in the learning-to-read process. i am so proud of him.

last night, after all of our books we laid there and talked for a little bit. he said, "mom, did you know when you sleep at night you can have dreams? in your head?!?"

i told him that yes, i did, and i asked him if he has dreams at night and what they are about. "oh, dogs and bikes and swimming and mommy and me and all kindsalike things" (kindsalike is one of my favorite words jah isaac has created, along with "tomornin.")

i asked him what he dreamt about me and he said, "well, you were a little gurl, just like me! and you were going to go to work when you go bigger, and fix lightbulbs!"

and then i asked him about his dream about himself:
"well, i was a little boy, just like mommy was little, and i was going to go to work once i got bigger, and fix all kindsalike things, especially lightbulbs!"

he is so freaking cute.
