if apple really lives up to their reputation of being good about fixing their technology when it breaks.
lately the sound has been intermittent in one ear or the other when i listen to my ipod. i figured it was the headphones, so i scrounged for another small pair that i had around here. the same thing happened, but i thought maybe they had just gotten into jah isaac's hands at some point.
today i stopped by guitar center in the midst of having to redirect my son to his nanny's house after mom called to say she was sick and could not babysit. this put me out in suburbia, so i bought a new pair of small sonys, which have been reliable in the past and come without the worry i have of dropping my 100 dollar deejay headphones into a bathtub while cleaning.
i get to the house i am cleaning, ready to jam out to a new mix i have acquired, and i have the same problem, only now it is not even intermittent. there is only sound coming through the right ear. i called applecare and they told me that my 90 days is up for free tech support, that i have to pay 50 bucks for five days of over the phone help. i say thanks, but no thanks. she did suggest i go to the apple store and talk to them, so i will be doing that tomorrow.
i bought this thing less than a year ago - october of 2004. somehow i do not think it should be having a problem like this already. it has not encountered water, it has not been dropped, and i keep it safely in its holder at all times, with exception of when i need to modify my settings or track selection.
so, steve, are you out there? you going to rectify the issue? i know i sure dont have 400 dollars to buy the newest version of the 20 gigger. i have faith that you are going to come through for me.
update: apple is replacing my ipod, and i loved being in that store. man i gotta get a macnitosh machine.

went though the same thing - less than a year old, they will fix it, just not with free phone support. big woop. they fixed mine, and im happy. gotta have it, u know?
