absurdity, i love this time of year, and tonight

i am almost done with what little shopping i had to do this year. i really culled down my list and am making cds for people and getting creative with my gifting this year. we also went to the Global Goods store yesterday and finished up all the gramma gifts.

i so love this time of year. i do not think it is just the holiday that does it. some of it comes from the sun being in Capricorn and me feeling at home with the energy right now. i am so sensitive to the emotional climate, and i can generally say that certain times of year are more challenging to me than others. this is my time of year to relax and shine. i love family and tradition and gathering with my loved ones. all the beds in the house filled, crazy amounts of activity - the best kind of insanity.

i must be in a good mood because i drove all the way to hickory ridge mall yesterday to pick up the one pair of properly sized particular shoes for jason's gift yesterday and when i got there, there was only one shoe. in the whole city, one shoe. i just thought that was the funniest thing ever in that moment - just so absurd it was hilarious. where is that other shoe?

the girl who had held "them" for me had that stance like, "please do not yell at me," and profusely apologized, but i was totally nice to her and just walked around this mall i had not visited since childhood. then i just had him order them online, which is fine, even though they will not be here on time for christmas morning.

tonight i also have a gig, so if you are out, or want to get out and do some dancing, please come see me!

You must be in a good mood to go to Hickory ridge mall, and face Memphis traffic. I don't even like going to Oak court mall, or any mall for that matter. I hope Jason loves the shoes.

I have to say though, I have been hit with the christmas spirit. I bitch about it, but I do love giving presents. (I aint gonna lie I love getting them too :) )

Have a good show tonight, I will be there in spirit.

well, that was fun. that was the first completely digital set i have ever played. the option was to bring my turntables or rough it out, and since i have a terrible crick in my back, i opted to play all mp3s, rather than carry heavy stuff. it was somewhat stressful, particularly since one of my tracks decided to up and DIE in the middle, without something else loaded in the other player.

oh well... i out another good track on and not many folks seemed to notice. lots of people enjoyed it and i passed out a bunch of flyers for my NYE party, which is looking like it may just be the sleeper hit. that suits me well, given that it is my action in the place of a resolution, for positive change in my life on all levels this new year.

    here's to it!
