Saturna

we had such a nice day yesterday. we all slept in until about 11 and then got up to get ready to go meet my mom and my brother for a mid-afternoon mexican mother's day meal. how's that for alliteration?

i woke up to a sweet note from jason and his insistence that i not do a thing to get our angel ready. then jah isaac and his dad went to run a couple of errands and my sweet baby came back bearing a pretty flower and a fancy balloon (which serves the double purpose of telling me that i am the best mom, and keeping the ruffian entertained some over the next few days, heh).

lunch was great. you can hardly go wrong taking me to any place that serves white cheese dip, but el porton has the best in the city. mom gave my brother and me each a card and she loved the cd i made her of old jazz vocal hits from ella fitzgerald, etta james, and billie holiday. colin was decidedly beside himself, having had his bachelor party the night before, claiming it was a sheer miracle he was sitting at the table, bringing knowing smiles from all of us. it was good to see him - he is a truly good guy, honest, sensitive, and caring.

after lunch we went to musical walmart (guitar center) and got a random assortment of cabling and a new cd player, and put some more money down on the turntable that is in layaway. we also hit target and tjmaxx, where jason told me to see if i wanted anything, but i really didn't see anything i had to have. we got jah isaac a real basketball, which he loves!

jason said he felt bad that he didn't really "get me anything," but he did. he gave me thoughtfulness and made me feel appreciated, and those things are better than material items. they feed the heart and soul. i love being a mom, and appreciation for how much i put into it makes me even happier. thanks guys.
